That light is a freight train and that represents the fans. Once this is complete, there will be some major hate heaped on the NHL and the PA. It's not going to be pretty, opening night.

Both sides are acting like toddlers. Take the emotion out of the equation and negotiate with level heads. Sit down and get it done.

if the season started by 1/19, the nhl would have to do some SERIOUS damage control to recoup those fans that have sworn off hockey... i cant even imagine the damage thatll be done if the season is lost.

i('d like to) believe, the owners and players realize how delicate this is with the fans and they cant have the season canceled.

It's a negotiation Ek, everything is on the table until it has been signed off.

And the below doesn't at all suggest the NHL is trying to pull the wool over the PA's eyes:

DarrenDreger: League source says all "changes" to Article 50 were highlighted and flagged and the union has had docs for a week.

Thanks for contributing to the media hype.

I personally don't care...I'll always be a faithful fan whenever they decide to come back and play...Labor issues are part of the game as well and we should learn to enjoy the fun and excitement they bring as much as we do the on ice product...Many people here finally learned how to add and subtract money, learned basic negotiation skills, learned how to file a disclaimer of interest, and learned that Ek's meter is permanently stuck on progress

What would the logic behind not saying anything about the change for a week? I'm starting to think that the PA feels stupid because they didn't notice the change & are trying to spin it like the NHL is trying to dupe them.

What makes me want to cry is thinking about how much time I've wasted over that last six months following these ungratetful clowns from BOTH sides.

The saddest part of all is that the League/Owners and PA are so hell-bent on screwing each other that they've forgotten that it's not even their money that they're fighting over, IT OURS, THE FAN'S MONEY!

Without THE FAN'S MONEY, neither side has anything. If money is what both sides care most about, when this debacle is finally over send the message people! Make your point to the NHL and PA at whatever level you feel you need to, but DO SOMETHING!

Make them hurt as we, The Fans, have been.

1) NHLPA will re-vote and give power for the Disclaimer of Interest
2) It will be exicuted By Sunday
3) Gary Betman will hold a presser to announce "it looks like the season will be lost" as the NHLPA has forced their hand to do this
4) everyone will scream and cry and stomp their feet
5) Last ditch efforts to save the season will begin again next Tue Jan 8th
6) Deal will be announced by Jan 10th

Almost at the finish line folks......one more week of scare tactics and B.S. and we will have our game back

Hang in there..............

Hey Ek,

I just want to say that I hate your meter. Not for the reasons that most claim to hate it for either. I know that you have been very optimistic through out this complete farce of a lockout and I hate your meter when it retracts backwards towards the negative. When even you are feeling less optimistic it scares me. I know you say it's going to be a roller coater ride and it really is, but your meter makes it worse.

I'm inclined to generally sympathize with the average Joe over billionaire owners, however this dispute is a very special case. At the end of the day no owners are in hockey for a living, aside from 3 of them all have either terrible return on investment or actually lose money. The players on the other hand get paid millions of dollars to play a game. And it appears a good chunk of them are completely detached from reality, the reality of what it means to be an average Joe. Frankly if this season blows up so be it, I'm at the point where I will be happy with any outcome at all. If we lose the next 3 seasons I'm OK, wouldn't mind telling a player or two that I would like some fries with that. See how quickly they go back then?
